Our Staff

The most important part of any general contractor is it’s people. We keep that point first and foremost in our minds when selecting individuals to join our team. The people listed on this page are all considered family. When you choose to work with BGC, you get the opportunity to work closely with them, often on a first-name basis. Welcome to the family!

Neil Rains

Lead Superintendent — Hired 12/03

Neil was our first employee. Neil has been project superintendent on many of our most important project and ran our first ground up project. Additionally, he’s been an important factor in growing existing clients from one project to many future projects. Neil built our first Potbelly Sandwich Works restaurant and both of the Pei Wei Asian Diners that we’ve completed. Neil also is our first superintendent to have traveled and worked from afar; he has worked in New York, Georgia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Dave Minnick

Project Superintendent — Hired 8/05

Dave completed Force 3, the largest square foot project BGC has done — 37,000²ft for one tenant. Additionally, he ran two Historic Restoration jobs, one of which was a rebuild of a fire damaged building. In 2007 Dave completed the Varuna Spa and Salon project as well.

Tim Smith

Project Superintendent — Hired 4/06

Tim started as an Assistant Super and has successfully worked his way to Superintendent while completing multiple clean turnover Potbelly projects. Tim has also done a significant amount of work on the Alexandria, VA Chart House Restaurant.

Scott Smith

Project Superintendent — Hired 10/06

Scott has earned his stripes quickly as he built the fastest Potbelly in our history… and it was his first project! He’s traveled and successfully built in the tough union environment of Philadelphia and has proven himself as a seasoned restaurant capable superintendent.

Shawn Rush

Project Superintendent — Hired 2/06

Shawn is on his second tour with BGC. He worked for a while in 2005, and left to pursue a travel position with a Retail concept. After experiencing travel burnout, Shawn has returned to tackle work on the My Girlfriend’s Kitchen concept, as well as a difficult medical space build out.

Pat Rush

Project Superintendent — Hired 7/07

Pat is another experienced travel capable superintendent. He’s worked with the Kilwin’s and Right Start concepts, as well as PF Chang’s renovation work. Pat is a recent referral from his cousin Shawn.

Alex Horak

Assistant Project Superintendent — Hired 9/07

Alex has assisted with Dulles Airport work, as well as help close out difficult local and out of town projects. He has shown that he’s willing to go the extra mile, and we’re looking forward to Alex running his own projects soon.

Ben Heath

Project Manager — Hired 4/07

Ben Heath is our first successful fit at Project Manager. He has taken over management of the Potbelly Sandwich Works Account from Todd. Additionally, he’s successfully supported our superintendents on multiple projects. We look forward to Ben’s growth with BGC, as he takes on more responsibility daily.

Corinne Ford

Executive Assistant — Hired 4/04

Corinne is the second employee hired at BGC and has taken on many responsibilities during her growth with the company. She started as Receptionist and has transitioned to currently handle all Human Resources related issues, as well as the responsibility of Payables and Receivables management. Additionally she assists Ben Harries, which is a full time job on it’s own.

Liz Edmiston

Executive Assistant — Hired 2/07

Liz has been a welcome addition in the office, as she has consistently performed well under pressure. She has the difficult task of assisting Todd Haynie, as well as coordinating Estimating and acting as Project Administrator for the Potbelly Sandwich Works account.

Heather Bushnell

Executive Assistant — Hired 3/06

Heather is another employee that has grown well with BGC. She began as a receptionist and has transitioned to take on the responsibility of assisting Ben Heath with various aspects of his projects.
