Answer:

All contractors are required to register with the Division of Occupational Health and Safety prior to beginning any work when the following conditions exist:

  1. The work involves 100 square feet or more of asbsesos containing construction material.
  2. The asbestos containing material is a manufactured material that contains more than 1/10 of 1 asbestos by weight.%
  3. The work involves an activity that can release asbestos fibers into the air, and the acitvity is not associated with manufacturing, mining or excavation of asbestos bearing ore or materials, or installation or repair of automotive materials containing asbestos.
