During the spring of this year, BGC| Gardiner & Gardiner spent some of their last days at Dogwood Acres in Stevensville, Maryland . The ground up production went smoothly and the pet retreat facility has now opened it’s doors to the public. This project was completed months ago, but with the newly landscaped exterior and polished decor, BGC | G&G thought it was the perfect time to take some final photos. The dream getaway for animals is operated daily by Kurt and Audrey Reichardt and offers luxury living including dining, comfortable lounging areas and television.
The thoughtful design by Rede Architecture is genius and notable especially in the windows, long hallways, mirroring suites, and convenient placement of the main entrance, washing room and check up areas. Dogwood Acres Kent Island is the second location for this rapidly expanding business. The main building includes the reception area, offices, bathing rooms, and a large work area to care for the animals. There are three wings that extend off the main building to serve as housing for the pets. The site also offers a large outdoor play area for large and small dogs, complete with water features, astro-turf, and a wooded lot for sitting in the shade on sunny days. With over 12,000 square feet of usable space, how can a pet not feel relaxed and eager to enjoy themselves at this home away from home?!
